ACI staff, Dr. Harry Knopke and Jay VandenBrink, traveled back to Queretaro, Mexico this past March to install 5 Facility Units and train community members around the rural town of San Ildelfonso, Mexico.

These projects are being performed with our partnership with the University Autonomous of Querétaro. This trip consisted of ACI staff and University staff training local community leaders in the rural areas of San Idelfonso and Amealco, Mexico.  With the training session, the community members learned and built their own Bio-Sand Filters to be brought back to their home by government officials. A local technician was also taught and installed one ACI Facility Filter Unit to be used in an elementary school of 600 students. Four more Facility Filter Units will be built in the coming weeks.

Also, we learned that undergraduate students of the University have taken it upon themselves to train other communities around Queretaro on clean water and the construction of BSFs.
