Aqua Clara International Donor Privacy Policy

Aqua Clara International (ACI) values and respects its donors’ right to privacy. It affirms that its fund-raising practices protect against unauthorized use of its contributor lists, and permits no general telephone solicitation of the public.

ACI utilizes donors’ personal information such as names, mailing addresses and email addresses only for purposes of donor acknowledgement and/or  when an individual voluntarily provides this information and opts to join our mailing list. ACI does not share donors’ personal or contact information with any third party organizations for purposes of solicitation. ACI strives to ensure that all donors who request acknowledgment receive appropriate acknowledgment in an orderly, timely and effective manner. ACI does not copy, reproduce, publish, post, distribute, share or sell, the name, personal contact information or description of donation of donor to any outside individual or business. Exceptions shall be those required by law, requested in grant applications or in connection with bank credit or debit card transactions that may be made without prior knowledge or consent of the donor.

ACI will provide, at least annually, a means (such as a check-off box) for both new and continuing donors to inform the charity if they do not want their names acknowledged on any of ACI’s printed material. All donations shall be treated individually so that multiple donations from a single donor shall receive the same consideration as if each were the first donation received.

If a donor chooses to opt out of any acknowledgement listings in printed material, the donor’s name and address will be made available only to members and/or staff of ACI who are responsible for managing the business of the corporation.

A printed copy of ACI’s Donor Privacy Policy will be mailed to a donor upon request and is also available on the corporation’s website. All records of donations to ACI shall be maintained by the corporation according to the applicable standards of record retention in effect at the time of the donation. All records will be maintained in a secure location of the chapter.

Visitors to the ACI’s Web site remain anonymous. ACI does not require visitors to register or provide personal information to view the site. There are instances when site visitors are asked for additional information in order to provide requested services. For example, information will be requested when making an online donation to ACI so that the gift may be properly processed and receipted; it is also expected of partner entities requesting materials reserved for partners only.  ACI’s online donors choose the personal information that ACI receives and can opt to remain anonymous. All credit card transactions are conducted over a secure server.

We use a number of web analytics products to optimize our website.  These tools do not require our site visitors to identify themselves, and they do not provide us any personally identifiable information about our visitors that is not supplied voluntarily.
