Aqua Clara International was invited to the 2nd annual International Congress of Mining and Geology in Honduras on July 13-15. ACI was invited due to the high need for arsenic remediation where it is present naturally and due to mining practices throughout Central America. ACI’s Program Field Director of Latin America, Jay VandenBrink, our Nicaraguan Program Director, Mario Benavides, and PhD candidate of UAQ Mexico, Marcela Duhne were all in attendance. The days before the congress were used for preparation and two very important meetings. One meeting was with the Director of Education of Honduras, and the other with several Honduran engineers, which was held at UPI, the only engineering university of Honduras.

ACI was one of eight groups that were able to talk to the whole Congress. People were very interested in our technology and thanked us for our work. This congress was heavily involved with UPI, which will continue to be a partner with ACI in helping the people of Honduras.
